FIELD TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS

 


The Board believes that field and activity trips often enhance the program of instruction and add much to the education of a student. Trips must be authorized by the superintendent or delegated representative.


Due to the increased cost of transportation, all field trips should be carefully scrutinized by the administration. Overnight trips will be approved only by the superintendent with a favorable recommendation from the building principals.


All parents of students who are eligible to participate in the field trip shall be notified of the activity. If eligible students are not to participate in the activity due to parental wishes, notice from the parent must be sent to the sponsor of the activity.


All students are expected to ride the bus to and from the scheduled field trip. Any exception to this must have prior administrative approval.
