The appointment of a superintendent is a function of the Board.
When deemed necessary by the majority of the Board, the recruitment process for a superintendent
of schools shall include the conduct of an active search to find the person it believes can most
effectively translate into action the policies of the Board and the aspirations of the community and
the staff.
In initiating this search, the Board may seek the advice and counsel of interested individuals and/or
the Board may employ a consultant to assist in the recruitment/selection process.
After a thorough consideration of qualified applicants, the Board shall appoint a superintendent
of schools. Appointment is by a vote of the majority (4) of the Board members present at a Board
meeting.
