The Board of Education realizes that class size impacts effective teaching. It therefore directs the
superintendent to work with his or her administrative staff in establishing a reasonable and
equitable class enrollment for each teacher.
The Board of Education understands that achieving this goal is dependent upon the financial ability
of the school district.
In determining the size of various classes the administration will consider the following factors:
► The type of load that will help the teacher be most effective with the children in the class.
► Physical limitations of the classroom, such as number of student stations.
► The subject matter and category of students to be enrolled.
► Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) standards outlined by the Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
